It's a great day here on the Picture Show Pundits. Matt Goodman has joined us and our show is as packed as ever. Kinda like that turkey you gorged yourself on last Thursday. In the spirit of the season of stuffing and over-indulgence we have a show packed full of movie goodness. So after you've finished putting up your Christmas tree or proudly displaying your menorah, unwind while listening to Episode 5.

Cast: Sarah "Reel Monkey" Bonilla, Ray "Macabre Stalker" Bonilla, Nate "Boxman" Zoebl, and Special Guest Matt Goodman

Topics:
Movie Review: Rent
o Uh-oh. . .mass chaos on the Rent front!
o "Get a job you condomless hippies!"
        o Matt thinks it's a good film for Rent-heads.
o Sarah takes issue with the hypocritical stance on selling out.
o Nate feels it is intrinsically pretentious and naïve, overly romanticized and cheesy.

Movie Review: The Ice Harvest
o The Ice Harvest might take itself too seriously, especially coming from Harold Ramis

            (Groundhog Day , Caddyshack).
o Is this a dark noir like Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang?
o This is not Bad Santa or anything even close to it.
o Spoiler alert: Why did they change the ending? Nate fills us in.

Movie Review: Pride and Prejudice
o Sarah takes a few moments to discuss one of the top 5 most adapted works of

            literature in the world.
o Is this film worth the money, or is a cheaper version more worthy of your dime?

DVD Review: War of the Worlds
o War of the Worlds is extremely gripping when it isn’t dripping melodrama.
o Steven Spielberg continues to return to his roots.
        o Thrilling post-9/11 horror movie.

DVD Review: Mr. & Mrs. Smith
o Pitt and Jolie exhibit a steamy and enjoyable chemistry.
o Doug Liman is an action God!
o A great film from the summer!

Trailer: The Producers
o Broderick and Lane will make or break this film.
o Will Ferrell looks amusing as always.

Trailer: Underworld - Evolution
o Poor Ray admits he has a soft spot for the first one.
o Nate feels its January release will ruin its chances for an Oscar.

SPOILER WARNING: Sarah innocently spoils Rent and The Ice Harvest. Nate goes postal spoiling Signs, The Usual Suspects, Seven, American Beauty, L.A. Confidential, and No Way Out. Matt, for good measure, spoils Citizen Kane and The Passion of the Christ for all listeners living under rocks.
(Seriously, I don't think many of these are spoilers, but the time tag for Nate's Spoiler-Rama is 53:00 to 53:57)

Next Week: Aeon Flux and the DVD releases of March of the Penguins, Murderball and Sky High. Trailers: Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain and M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water.

Opening Credits: The Godfather Part II - Carmine Coppola & Nino Rota, A New Carpet
Closing Credits: Mr. & Mrs. Smith - John Powell,
His and Her Hits
